Promenade Café & Wine is located at the foot of Esplanade Riel overlooking the Red River and the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights.. For a price of $25.00 per person, a couple can share a fixed tapas menu that could include a soup, salad and 14 ounce New York strip loin steak for two, just as an example. Another significant emphasis for this restaurant is on wine and food pairings. Each menu item will have a suggested wine pairing for guests to try. Wine tasting events will happen on a monthly basis and will include trendy features like wine tasting apps you can use with your mobile device to rate wines at the cafe. Guests will even have the opportunity to pick the house wine. The aspiration with Promenade Cafe and Wine Bar is to be the go-to place for friends and families to come together to share a meal once or twice a month with entrees priced around the $20 mark.
Shawn & Connie Brandson have brought their award winning team from Provence Bistro at Niakwa Country Club to their new location at Provencher & Taché. With the closing of Provence on December 31st, 2011; they decided to purchase Promenade Bistro and serve fabulous French comfort food at reasonable prices. They are building on the strengths of Promenade’s breakfast and lunch service while adding a café aspect of fair trade and organic coffees to go at this landmark St. Boniface restaurant.
